Started sorting in Oct 2009, upgraded to a Ryedale near end of November. Have gone thru maybe 800,000 so far. It seems like it isn't such a big deal to discover a clad dime in a penny roll, as I've found 18 of them so far. Maybe one per every $50 searched. But new for me... found a 1956 rosie tonight. I spotted it even before I sliced the roll... it was just winking at me
Dimes are pretty common - I get enough to make rolls and deposit them. A silver dime is a nice bonus though.

Sweet find on the silver Roosevelt!! It has been mentioned before that finding silver in a penny roll puts you in a VERY EXCLUSIVE club...CONGRATS on your entry to said club. I would like to join. Someone else recently mentioned finding a silver dime in a penny roll...prior to that I think someone found a 1940's era silver Great Britain sixpence, but that was some time ago.
I have yet to find a silver in my pennies. I do find 2-3 DOLLARS worth of dimes every week in bags. I just take them to work and use them towards buying drinks. I don't want to take them to the coin counter and get counted as a penny again.
