What are these actually made of? I've googled a bit and not come up with a real answer besides some parts tin or maybe tinplate. I have a boatload of old mint tins, boxes of em from altoids and other such brands, gum, board games etc. and was just curious what they heck they are made of.

My yard pays sheet iron prices for them. Magnet sticks to them they have iron in them. Around here that only gets 3 cents a pound which isn't much, but add steel cans from cooking (soup cans), coat hangers, metal frames from taking electronic items apart, appliances, etc and you'll get a load in no time. |

I tried to scrap iron once at the local metal place and they said I needed something like a 200lb minimum. THey would take lower weights, just not pay me for em lol. |

They sell on ebay, people use them for small project boxes and to hold small parts. Sell them as lots of the same type and you will do better than the scrap yard would pay. |
