HI all really new to this scraping electronics thingy. tore open a very old DVD player and therer are about 10 boards in it. Alot of them have this and it looks like Gold but is there a way to tell? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Dan

I think it's a thin copper foil. We made our own circut boards in high school and I remember starting with a board covered in copper foil,drawing out the circuit,drilling holes and then soaking them in an acid bath to remove all the copper except where we drew our circuit.

DVD boards would be copper. Some scrap yards buy them as low grade ewaste. Some places you have to pay to get rid of them.
