Stopped at a few banks on the way home today. $18 in teller halves yielded 5 - 68s, 7 - 67s, and 2 - 66ers All but one of the 40%ers came from a bank that sold me $9.5 in halves. As the teller was giving me the halves she said "there is no silver, I already checked for those. Too bad you didn't come in a couple of days ago. We had $60 of these but a lady came in and said said she wanted some halves to give to her grandkids and bought $50 worth." More than half of the banks I stop at tell me that someone else just bought all of our halves yesterday, last week, or 10 minutes ago. Most banks have no halves. Are the rest of you having the same kind of experiences?

| Yes, absolutely. In fact, it just happened twice today. I wonder if it's just an excuse the tellers made up so you will stop bugging them for halves. If it is true, then we have a lot of future competition to worry about. |

Do you think that you are the only one in town looking for silver? |

| My banks call me on my cell when they get CWR halves. They hate dealing with them. |

| I have some banks that call, some that always had someone just buy them, and some that are someone else's dump bank. That is why I am glad I can get some ordered for me. |

It's amazing you scored any silver! It's been like that in Houston for the last 2 years. |

It's like that where I live, too. There are quite a few stories of "this old guy" coming in and buying loose halves off my banks.
I don't think it is necessarily the same old guy, either. |
It's Half Time...all the time. |

I'm in south west PA. I get some CWR of halves when I can. But I hear all the time "there are no silver in these". "Someone just came in yesterday and bought them all". The one bank I stop in the teller always says "a guy that makes jewelry out of them buys them all" |

LOL. As long as he dumps them where we can find them come December. I would be o.k. with that. We could just sit back all year, let him collect them, mark the rolls 40% for us and we could stop by the bank on christmas eve. |
