Yesterday during lunch I went to some local banks to get some copper. Only had time for two banks. One had no customer rolls so I bought a box and the other had $14 in customer rolls.
So, this morning before getting to my office I stopped at my local lake to sort on my ryedale. The box went fast but when I got to the customer rolls I wasnt getting a lot of zincs so I looked closer and I could see lots of wheats building up on the copper side. I stopped the machine and grabbed a few handfulls of zincs to see if any wheats made it there. I did find a couple. So now I would only pour in one roll at a time and hold my hand under the zinc chute, on one roll I only got 3 rejects. Two were wheats (1937d and 1945s) and one zinc I recovered over a dozen wheats from the zinc side. Tonight I will go through the copper side and sort out the great from the good.
Update tomorrow.

Dan, Great story. I love when I get lots of wheats. Here is a way to sort the wheats out of the zincs without having to do it by hand. Change the coin in the comparitor to a zinc coin and tune the discrimination to where it just barely accepts the zincs. Then rerun your zinc rejects. All the cool older date wheats will drop into the reject box.
If your percentages are low.. just sort more.

haha. That's awesome, Cyberdan! It's great when the zincs are the minority---and those wheaties never get old. Congrats.

Man oh man, I consider it good if I can get more than 10 in a box. Awesome score.

I'm so sick over pennies....I frequently trade a dime or two for the whole "take-a-penny" container if sufficient coppers exist. That will get you some odd looks. |

Wheat UPDATE.
I went through all the copper and pulled out 272 wheats.
Oldest one 1914, a couple in the 20's, several in the 30's and most were middle 40's.
