Was at the gas station today and bought a soda and a pack of gum. Total bill came out to like $2.64 or something. Cashier handed me the bills and my quarter and dime - she started breaking the penny roll on the counter and I don't know if I just looked like I was in a hurry or something, but she asked if I wanted the penny.
I said no.
For the rest of the day I have felt guilty about it. As part of my punishment, I told myself I'd admit my transgressions to my fellow penny hoarding brethren. So I throw myself at your mercy.
What must I do to redeem myself?

| The possibility's could have been a 09 s VBD, a Wild Indian or something else of utter amazement but you will never know. I regress though I cannot pass judgment I turned down 50 dollars of CWR's at he bank today for no reason than I am just not in the sorting mood this week. |

I just can't shake the thought of putting a green corroded penny in my mouth!
There was a guy on the Coin Community forum that said he could tell which 1982 cents were copper vs zinc by the way they taste....YUCK!  |

I think I made up for your bad karma today...
I was buying a drink at the drugstore, got 2 pennies change...both zinc. Saw a shiny 70's canadian penny, and asked if i could have "the old penny instead" The cashier didn't seem to grasp the concept, and while he hummed and hawed...I slowly leaned over and while apologizing, grabbed the penny from the till and put a zinc back on the counter.
When i left i realized; a) I coulda got shot in a similar situation, and b) I look like an absolute wacko sometimes. |

Man, I ALWAYS try to get my gas to end up at xx.46 or something similar, so I will get four cents back.
And the cashier ALWAYS (ALWAYS!) rounds my change up, and gives me the nickel instead.
And I ALWAYS pause as I look at my change, and think, do I say something? Like "Can I please have four cents instead?"
And I NEVER have the (guts?) to say anything. I just accept the extra, even though it's not what I want.

| yeah i don't think you should be that upset here. Sort by the hundreds of dollars each week and a handful of potential coppers or even wheats won't make you go out of the way that often. |

| same boat here....the old man cashier at Ride Aid this week said "mind if I short you a penny?" There wasn't even anybody else on line, but I said, "sure, no problem." It's been bothering me ever since. |

| In order to redeem yourself.. you must pay for your next gas purchase entirely with pennies. You probably won't set any records.. since the current records for both prepay and paying after the purchase are both in excess of 2 boxes.. but it is fun.. and a great way to dump a few zincs. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Yeah, but even $17 worth at the wrong station can cause a fus.
I think the owner wanted to punch me. and then less than 3 months later, the station closed down! Zinc dragged them down!@?? |
