Then you are going to envy this, bag #3 and 32% as ND FARMER said early that we get about 30%. |

district 11 not so good...I am smiling when I get 20% usually its in the 17% range...going to Denver in March...might make a day trip to district 9 for a pickup....I am on the same thought as LT...Houston has never seen a recession or even a slow down in my 35 years living here...my reasoning for the poor Cu %'s...Friday I stop by a branch bank and only got 17.8 % in 50 $ of CWR's, the same if it was from Fed boxes. |

Once we get some reliable numbers out of this bit of research, maybe it will help our percentages. For instance, if you are on the border between two districts, and one gets several percent more copper than the other, than you can cross into that district for your pickups. I don't know if that will turn out to be the case anywhere, but it might be. Why go to so much trouble to sort lower percentages if a better return is just a few miles further away? |

Just in case anyone is interested, this is from the 1990 census (it's all I could find): District 1 Boston - 12,378,000 District 2 New York - 24,138,000 District 3 Philadelphia - 11,506,000 District 4 Cleveland - 16,108,000 District 5 Richmond - 23,330,000 District 6 Atlanta - 31,833,000 District 7 Chicago - 30,601,000 District 8 St Louis - 12,528,000 District 9 Minneapolis - 7,574,000 District 10 Kansas City - 13,541,000 District 11 Dallas - 18,467,000 District 12 San Francisco - 46,723,000
Contrary to popular opinion, District 9 does not include 750,000 Prawns that are properly credited to Johannesburg, South Africa |

I'm in District #6, but I'm right on the border with #5. In Northeast Georgia (District #6) copper is around 20%, and it is about 22% in Upstate South Carolina (District #5). Whenever I go into South Carolina, I usually go to a few banks for Pennies. |

District 10. Increasing percentages. Pushing 40% in my bags. Boxes are getting heavier as well.

Haven't got any reports from District 3, or 4 yet. Need as much data as you guys are willing to feed, the more the merrier. So far the reports from same districts are fairly consistent (plus/minus 2pts) but there's a huge variation between districts. |

Hey beauanderos.. I am in distict 12 and got way better than district 9 percentages today! Picked up 60 rolls on a drive-by and just finished sorting them.. 71.67%!!! 2135 out of the 3000 coins were copper. Of course this is not typical for my area. 39 of the rolls were solid copper bright shiny BU rolls.. mostly 1959-D. If I adjust those out of the mix I get a yield of 17.62%.. very close to my normal 18-20% copper. Guess in District 12 we will just have to "sort more!"
|
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Thanks for reporting the "adjustment" Hoard. Don't want to skew the results! I picked up 149 rolls from my credit union, but they were skunks compared to yours. Only two older wheaties, and 19.45% copper. I thought maybe I'd get luckier on the percentage. |
