On the bright side we can get a deal on Euros for our silver now. Anyone want to go to Europe this spring? |

I don't think silver dropping a lot should freak someone out if you bought at higher prices.
Lets say you bought silver at 12x face and you found someone to buy it at 11.8x face. You would think at 1st you lost money but if you could turn around and buy back all that silver at 11x face, you are actually ahead. |

I hope it drops more. I love silver. The cheaper the better. A nice spike about 20 years from now would be nice, if I'm around to see it. (selfish attitude)

Let's take a look at the five year silver chart. Assuming that we are about to see a re-run of 2008 or something similar we should at the worst be down for about a year.
I don't think that will be the case especially if silver can make a recovery before May. Even so, this year may be the one in which silver makes some big gains during the summer months.
This is why I have warned others not to buy in with money they are likely to need over the short term. Always consider silver a long term investment and if opportunity knocks sooner it will be a bonus.

| It's going to be interesting one way or another. Silver spot may fall, but good luck buying any at that price. Been there before. |

| Let's remember too that if Europe starts to do huge bailouts along with a tanking Euro then Europeans should eventually flock to precious metals as an anti-inflation hedge. |

Also I belive a war with Iran is imminent. Within 6 weeks. I hope it does not happen but you can look at DEBKA.com or talk to people you may know in the military.
There a certain movements taking place now that cannot be maintained for long.
I beleive an attack from Syria to Isreal is pending. Isreal is prepared to preempt. and the U.S. navy is at this time prepositioning. The Army and Air Force is preparing to defend Isreal from missle strikes. Go ahead and research this. It's very disturbing. Next week I will remove about 40% from the stock market. A drastic measure as it represents 20 years of saving.
I hope I'm dead wrong. |

Dalsuh...were you able to go back to the Long Beach Coin show on Saturday? How were people reacting to the silver price? Buyers vs. sellers, etc? Was there any silver still for sale on Saturday?
Thanks for info.
Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. |

Remember after the 2008 plunge? Paper silver price dropped to high 9's, but you still had to bid to high 11's to win on ebay. At one point, APMEX sent me an email offering to buy back some 90% at a $2.50 premium. I remember one day that they only had about $150 worth of 90% available on their entire site. I'm not sure whether their inventory had dried up totally, or whether any inventory they would be willing to sell at that price was gone. |

I'm getting into geezerhood. I hope that spike comes alot sooner than twenty years (like maybe this year would be nice?). According to a high-dollar subscription service associated with Martin Weiss, the dollar is supposed to breakdown horribly this year, precious metals skyrocket in 2011, and the stockmarket recede to it's lowest point in multiple decades in 2012. I just wish silver would explode on its own merits without needing hyperinflation to push it there. It would be nice to have a few years of a nicer lifestyle (after ten years of sacrifices) to enjoy our gains in wealth, than merely needing it just to survive. |

I could live with that scenario. I would sell half my silver and pay down debt (mortgage). Diversity is the key. |

Yes I went back Saturday. The drop in silver did not affect the prices too much. The cheapest 90% halves I saw was selling for $6-$6.25, and the cheapest Peace dollars in average/fine condition for $19 each. Besides that I found two 1 oz. silver bars which were selling for $16.50 each(I passed because they were ugly to me). I thought this might be a good time to buy some "historic" silver bullion, but the dealers had a $7/oz-$5/oz premium on them so I passed again. The PCGS booth was busy both days I attended. I also overheard a dealer say how slow it is. Compared to last years show, it was pretty dead. The rain probably played a factor. |

I have been holding my new silver since 1982-2002 so that I am not worried.
What is going on?......the coats and ties are shaking the tree so that you will get scared and sell your PM and then.....they come from behind and buy all that they can, otherwise why are there so many commercials where they want to buy your gold?
Remember that only silver and gold is real money as it has been for a very longggggggggg time. |
