Does anyone know what coin this is? Found it in a roll of pennies.

It has a big 5 and it does look like the word Kopeek. So I guess its a Russian 5 Kopeek coin. I wonder if there are any old Soviet coins floating around out there?

Whatever the reverse number is, its that many kopeeks. Current Russian sub-unit of the ruble. So 10 Kopeeks would be 1/30th of 10 cents, roughly.

I found a `60s era 10 Kopeek in a roll of CWR pennies about a year ago or so.

I found one of those 5 Kopek pieces in my penny sort a while back. So I guess there are a few of them circulating out there. Neat coin!

The 1, 5, 10, and 50 Kopek coins depict St. George slaying the dragon. St. Andrew is the patron saint of Russia, so I don't know why this was selected, though it looks really cool.

Looks cool, glad you figured out what it is.
I haven't found anything but Canadians. I did find a Bahama penny-looking coin in a jar in my house though.

Keep sorting and you will find many world coins.

The Russian Rouble is a currency that has been hit by inflation.

The Kopeck-denominated coins are worth very little in terms of their face value.

You are not kidding. I think a Ruble is worth less than a nickle. Like 30/dollar or something. Who would have thought.

I wonder if world coins in circulation has to do with locality. I haven't found anything besides US and Canada coins in a long long time.

It definitely does. Places like LA, Miami, DC, and NYC are going to have way more foreign pocket change floating around than, say, Akron or Wichita.
