A local dealer offered me 3 one ounce silver art bars today for $16 each, cash (no tax). Would you have bought the 3 at this price?

| Yes, $16 is a nice deal. It would be even better if the bars are from a widely recognized mint (Englehard, Sunshine etc) |

Seems to me that if one is buying 999 fine silver to hold as a hedge against the possiblity of the dollar being devalued, that's a good deal. (assuming, of course, you trust the dealer and are sure that the bars are 999 fine)

| Yeah, if the bars had maker's marks stamped on them, I would have bought them to begin with...Oh well, at least silver is coming down in price. Perhaps it will drop under the $16 mark soon. |

We all miss opportunities but that makes us wiser and more alert for the next deal to come by. I do wish I had never stopped actively seeking coins/silver coins so many years ago. I am making up for lost time and have increased the family collection from 1970 some 25 fold in just a year. Not an exageration. It's how I'm wired.
