I looked around on ebay and I couldnt find any commerative coins that were any where near $12-15, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
Your talking about things like I saw one with IKE's house on it? The decleration of independance?

The ones I bought in quantity were those from 1986 (Statue of Liberty) through those of the early 1990s. Included are the USO, Congressional, Constitution, White House and Ike's House.

There were 7+ million of the Statue of Liberty Proof $1 made and there's no way that demand for those will ever reach that point. The price of silver has risen to a point where the intrinsic value of the coin is now greater than any numismatic value that it once had. I've saved out a few of the nicer ones (especially the uncirculated ones) that I like better and will be hanging on to those. The rest have been put into tubes (used ones I got for free) and especially the ones with the haze on the proof surface (common problem due to improper storage) will be among the first diverted to the melting pot when the silver price warrants.

Even the 2002 West Point commem $1 coins are selling near bullion on the wholesale market. Personally, I like them, and have been saving those when they're available in the $13-15 range. No clue why they're so undervalued as the mintage wasn't exceptionally high.

Keep looking. You'll find some good deals eventually.

Here in Wisconsin, we have some of the highest property and gasoline taxes in the US. We're squeezed so much, I have to make my daughter wear penny boxes for shoes. At least she has an endless supply.

The Statue of Liberty halves mentioned in the first post are not silver - they are CuNi. I have found several comm. halves that are modern and not silver.

I picked up 3 Morgans today for $13 each. They're very worn and one has some gunk on it, but hey, 90% silver!

Are you throwing that out?
