I'm not waiting have amassed quite a collection off ebay over the years when the price is right, but there is really nothing like finding a wild one. Its the last one on my wild list to find. Buffalo-check, War Nick-check, Silver coins-check, Wheat's-check, Indian Head-sore subject. Hoard if you have the corner on Indian's maybe the Canadian's are not all we need to talk about.
P.S. I'm from Tex as well, but currently in another state, but can't wait to get back to the mother state so save me something for when I return. |

I agree.. there is nothing like the thrill of finding one in the wild. I have quite a tribe of domesticated Indians.. but the wild ones are the most fun.
The Texas thing refers to a certain member in that state who claims that Indians do not exist in the wild.. and has even formed a group of non-believers. You need to find some past threads.. probably in the Indian Cent section, to read up on this. Indians are tough to find for all of us.. but even tougher to find in Texas.
Perhaps you can increase your chances if you do the special feathered dance discussed in those old threads. |

I sometimes forget that some of you newer guys might not be familiar with the Legend of the Great TenBears and "The Rational Thinkers Only Club." I had to do some dredging deep in the archives.. but I came up with a few links I'm sure you will enjoy. It is part of the history of this site and needs to be revived.

| Interesting, HCBTT, and I wish I had known about this site back in 2008. Believe me though, I've been hoarding copper pennies since the end of 2007 or the beginning of 2008. Sounds like you had some fun back then! |

I joined in early 2007.. after lurking for several months. We have always had a lot of fun on this site. Some of the threads are classics. TenBears used to be known as Texascattlerancher before changing his name to TenBears and changing his Avatar in the vain attempt to find an Indian cent. |

so many naysayers out there. Just because Catawba St is one block from me means nothing when it comes to finding IH's. What? Is that a smoke signal coming from that tepee? Oh did I mention I found one at work in my 3rd shift till. They are almost easier to find than the steelies.
kirkland, we take jabs at one another when we get a chance. It is all in fun. You have to be on your toes and quick witted!!!! |

"Let's call them professionally rolled, by a distributor/armored service."
I think this is why some of us call them "Fed rolls." |

Three rolls? Been at it awhile there buddy.
In the last year I have found about 75 and thought that was amazing. Got another yesterday. You must be hitting the chute magnets.
Ever seen the jumbo magnet deep inside the Penny Archade counter?
That thing can grab coins from 6 inches. Rare earth.
I had one employee who let me clean it but he is no longer there.
