I have 4 aluminum alloy wheels that came from my wife's "great" GM POS vehicle (they corroded & made her tires go flat!)

Are the old wheels worth keeping? I say "no" but wife is a hoarder & doesn't know it. She wants to keep them & scrap for some $$$. But about what are they worth? They are stock GM 17" wheels from 2003.

Thanks!

60 cents a pound, in my town.

If you live where they use road salt, they all eventually corrode. Tire shops have techniques to deal with this problem.

Just scrapped 4 rims (tires removed) from an 80's-vintage Corvette for $32 today... 91 pounds for the set at $0.35/lb.

Best part: I bought them off ebay for $0.99 *w00t*

Considering Verizon Business service? Perhaps you'd like to consider a nice drain cleaner enema instead?

OK! You all convinced me to keep the wheels. I will scrap them soon & report back here. Thanks!

Are the center caps any good? I bought a set at a yard sale. Scrapped the wheels and sold the center caps on ebay for $35.00 each. they were for a toyota. Check ebay to see if what you have is worth anything.

Scrapped the 4 wheels today. Just under 80 lbs. total @ 65¢/lb.

Also did not do anything w-the caps - left them on the wheels.

Thanks to El Dee & others!

I don't know who would buy those, but you may be lucky to find somebody wherever you live.
