You couldn't tell just by looking? I can usually tell if it is only one or two short just by looking. Definately if I hold them I can tell. Maybe carry a full roll, or something the same length as a full roll to compare them to? My dad frequently comes over when I sort and is amazed at the "sorting skills" one amasses over the years....

Nickels are about the easiest to tell (see) if the roll is sort (or long). I frequently "suggest" a roll may be short and ask for it to be counted. The institutions I usually use (i.e., nice Tellers I wait for) don't bat an eye any more, and it gives me a chance to eyeball what's in the short rolls. When there's a Canuk-A-Nickle, they just write it off and give it to me because the banks don't sell Canuk-A-Coin anymore. |

| I have been shorted 4 halves in one roll pulled from a box before. $2 isnt going to bankrupt me because this box as full of silver. Stinks but its part of the game. I do love getting the 3-5 extra dollar coins in the bags of halves though. I guess it all washes out in the end. |

| You guys should post a +/- thread for rolls of coins that you get. I am sure you get shorted more often. But silver will make up the diff |
