I do believe that these products do have some value above and beyond their metal content.
I was a little weary of the high premiums but a big shiny copper brick just looks so good and you can really feel it when you pick one up, I just couldn't resist purchasing a few. |

| I have just started sorting copper pennies. The simple reason is the melt value is more than twice the face. But my question is once I get a few 1 gallon jugs of them how do you sell them as bullion? On Ebay? who will buy copper cents? I feel the correct thing to do is to keep saving them since the melt value is double face and figure out what to do whith them latter. Melting into bars of 95% copper? would anyone pay for these? |

I have just started as well.
I don't think anyone would buy 95% copper bars. They are worth more in coin form because they have a recognizable value as opposed to some a random bar with no certain copper content.
Some lots of pennies are being sold on ebay. People on this forum will buy pennies also. |

Remember folks, melting pennies is illegal. Keeping them in their Lincolnized form is the way you want to go. It's recognizable, and it'll keep you out of jail. Win-win, huh? |

I continue to read, stunned by the knowledge I gain on this forum. You guys really seen to know your stuff.
By the way, calling people "chumps" is a ghetto pejorative and should not be tolerated on ,what I see, as a high class gentleman-ly discussion forum, like this one.
Just my newbie opinion. |

I had received a gorgeous copper bar from The Copper Cave just prior to the last coin club show in Orlando back in September, 2009.
I took it along to show it off. It was very well received by long time numismatists who have many favorable comments about it.
People collect other forms of art. Why not copper bars or silver bars? That way you have beautiful art to enjoy with the plus side of it having a definite intrinsic value.
Enjoy. |
