Sure, there are people buying. Typical selling unit is either $95 or $100 face. Ideally you would find a buyer somewhere near you so you wouldn't have to pay for shipping. Where are you located?  |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available. |

Selling Ryedale sorted USA cents
1.5 each + shipping over 500fv 1.5 each +1/2 shipping
If you pick up 1.35 each
located MT/ND boarder.
after Ryedale sorting they are hand sorted to remove canadian then rechecked with Ryedale to insure all copper and count out $50 FV then placed in cloth bags and sealed with #1 copper wire. |

| I have not been sorting long. I sorted though $100 this past summer just to see what the percentage was, and just finished my first $100 in nickles the other day, for the same purpose. I found one 1987 Canadian nickle. I bought a Penny Miser recently. I will be in NE Tennessee until spring and the NW Colorado until Fall. (I winter in TN and summer in CO). If I can find a buyer I will start sorting in ernest. (Although one of my busy seasons at work will start in Febuary and last through March). I think a price of .50c per pound off the melt value as quoted by Coinflation.com, plus shipping is reasonable? |

2x face is a little high(150 a lb X.02 =$3) but people are getting that sometimes so go for it. At 2X though you might have to ship for free. Just make sure you ship enough to cover it.
Also what is the deal with the 87 nickel? I thought it was 79 and under you save. |

I guess my math was wrong or I just was not expressing myself correctly. Coinflation has a penny valued at .0225873. If we agree that it takes 150 pennies to equal a pound then X 150 should be about $3.388-.50= $2.88 per 150 pennies.
Its all negotiable.

true, but no one will buy them from you for that. pennies are available at the bank, and they can't be melted down. that is a blessing and a curse. it means you can get them for face value at the bank all day long. it also means no one will buy them from you for anything close to what they are worth.
do a search on feebay's completed transactions to get a sense of the market and remember to back out shipping and feebay fees. |
