interesting... but it is hard to read what people are thinking since silver is currently riding both sides of the 17.00 mark, a little bit under now, a little bit over in a minute or two... so what do the votes in those ranges mean? could be status quo votes.
I voted 16.00-16.49; and I think it will dip more in January... |

I quit buying for now I also think the price is going to drop. Save cash for when it does drop. |

The dollar appears to be stronger, but that is only because the Euro is weaker. When the dollar is stronger, it drives the price of gold and silver down. I strongly believe that after the 1st of the year we will see a multitude of problems. People will be out of work due to the slow down in spending. This will cause credit defaults. I see the stock market and the dollar go down. This will cause the prices of gold and silver to take off.
I don't think that silver will dip to bad before the end of the year. We won't really see the effects until Mid February when the bills start becoming past due. |

I think PM's will be slowly falling over the holiday season, with another run up in price by about March 2010. Silver will bottom out around $13.50 and then be around $20-$25 by summer. The current "stronger" dollar will not last. |

Looks like most of us think the price is going down for now. |

Under 15.00. (11.00-13.00) Just an amature extrapolation, looking at the last 3 years' trading range, and some wishful thinking. I sure would like to be able to afford another 75-100 lbs. |

Wow! Seems like extremes rule when it comes to predictions. Not too long ago one might have expected to have his or her head bitten off if they disagreed that silver would be $20+ by now. Now it appears it won't be able to hold on to $17.00 by the end of the year by many. Markets change, I try not to get too carried away when they go up because they always go down again....at least for a while. PMs get over bought at times, but on the other hand they get over sold too. Try to look at the big picture and judge for yourself when each are occurring and why. |

I agree. Its also important to understand that between say 12/15 and 1/4 the markets are thinly traded and should be taken with a grain of salt. I've noticed that the prices for silver on E bay have moved very little in response to the spot price decline. |

I voted 16.50 to 16.99. Than give it 2 weeks for the bills to come in from the holidays and it will start jumping up again do to the dollar going down. |

I voted 16.50 - 16.99. I also agree that the "holi-daze" make for thin trading in PM's same as for the stock markets, so now may be a good time to take advantage & load up. I also see "huge" complacency in the stock market as indicated in the VIX - and it has been low the last few months.
I also hear anecdotes of imminent layoffs in many state governments & government contractors going out of business as states do not pay their bills.
In short, the other shoe is about to drop soon I fear. So I did as I said I'd do in this forum & bought some more 90% AG halves - as many as I could @ 12X.
The collapse is coming but thankfully it is aproaching slow enough for me to prepare. |

I thought I'd revive this thread since we are almost at year-end... Silver has had some large swings since this poll began 9 days ago. |
