NEW ZEALAND again.
Bluegill and I have both already posted New Zealand stuff before, but I finally got several different types all in one place at the same time. Here we have a predecimal penny and halfpenny, plus decimal cent 2 cent, 5 cent, and 10 cent. The 5 and 10 are copper-nickel, the others are bronze. New Zealand switched over to a decimal system starting in 1967. All really interesting designs, in my opinion. The penny shows a tui or tuli bird; the halfpenny has a hei tiki. In the decimal issues, the cent shows a silver fern leaf, the two cent shows kowhai leaves, five cent shows a tuatara, and the ten cent shows an awesome maori mask.

NORWAY... I'm reposting this one because I got another cool coin and wanted to keep this country's coins together. They follow a pretty cool theme, as you can see:

So... here you get a MOOSE! And a squirrel! And a lion with an axe!?! Beautiful? Probably. But COOL? Heck yes, it's a SQUIRREL! Some 2 ore coins had a rooster (1958-72), too. One, two, and five ore coins were all bronze. The squirrel 1 ore was used from 1958-1972 when the denomination was discontinued, along with the 2 ore. The 5 ore, the last true bronze coin of Norway, was discontinued in 1982. |

In light of the man in the news yesterday and today, I simply had to submit a coin from...
QATAR and DUBAI. 1 dirhem, bronze.
Coins reading "Qatar and Dubai" were issued from 1966-1971. Starting in 1972, the coins read "State of Qatar." |

PAPUA NEW GUINEA, 1 toea, bronze.
Another KM-1. The 1 and 2 toea coins were both bronze, but this beauty is the first I've found from this country. I can't wait to show this one to my girls when they get back from grandma's!!! |

PARAGUAY. 10, 15, 25, 50 centimos. Apparently, someone broke open a set and it got thrown into the junk box. Still pretty nice looking though. Can someone verify what these are made of? I was assuming brass or nickel-brass.

Those are neat lookin' coins. The Krause book says that they are made of aluminum-bronze.

SINGAPORE, 1 cent, bronze.
Just jumping in here to post another pic. Someday when I have more time I will talk more about them, but for now the pictures just have to stand for themselves... In all honesty, the pictures themselves are worth a thousand words... right? |

HONG KONG again!
The Hong Kong cent (above) was approximately the size of a US half-dollar from 1863-1926, then approximately US quarter size from 1931-34. Apparently there is also a very valuable 1941 cent, so if you see a Hong Kong cent with George VI, you may have found a treasure, as it was the only date minted during his reign. Also shown (below) are the twenty cent, fifty cent, and ten dollar coins. The twenty cent coin was silver from 1902-1905 (all of which are quite valuable), then nickel-brass and brass since 1975; the fifty cent coin was also silver from 1902-05 and is quite valuable, but then switched to copper-nickel in 1951, and nickel-brass in 1977, and brass plated steel starting in 1993. The ten dollar coin was introduced in 1993, with a nickel-brass center and a copper-nickel ring.
NOTE: I have recently added quite a few more coins to my bronze collection, including several coins from countries I already posted. I personally think it's best to look at several types together from the same country, if possible. So basically what I will be doing is gathering the coins from the original post, plus the new ones, and scanning a new picture. As I post new pictures, I will be deleting the old posts. This makes it convenient for those who have been following this thread all along, but also takes out the repetition for those who may be checking the thread out for the first time. |

I appreciate that very much. Probably half the views are mine :) because I sometimes forget whether I posted something, and I go back from page to page over and over trying to find stuff. |

This really is impressive. Do you keep your coins organized?
Or, is it a disaster like mine? |

I am the same way, with coins and baseball cards. I never seem to be able to purchase enough flips/pages or albums. I am always just a little short. |

ICELAND again. Here we have a kingdom-era 5 aurar (bronze), then four coins from after the monetary reform of 1981: 10 aurar (bronze), 50 aurar (bronze), krona (copper-nickel), and 50 kronur (nickel-brass).
And PS, we reached 7000 views! Awesome. |

Coventry Half Penny (UK) 5 tons made You must be logged in to see this link. on Lady Godiva (the naked woman on the horse)

I haven't seen too many coins with elephants on them, and it is pretty obvious that the die sculptor had probably never seen a live one before the coin was struck. |

I don't know if I would call them beautiful, but they are bronze. I've seen transit and car wash tokens that look better.

SWEDEN I had a few already scanned, which I'll just add to yours. Yeah, to put it kindly, they're kinda different. Not sure which side you would even consider obverse and reverse... the older one is a little nicer though.
