Have any of you heard that the Fed. is sorting-out copper pennies with high-volumn machines?

I have a hard time believing this is being done at this time. I think that the cost vs return is not high enough for the government to worry about. I do believe that we are going to see a change in the coins soon if the price of base metals stays high. If this happens I believe the government will start keeping the old coins as they are returned rather than resend them back into the world.

It wouldn't surprise me if they started to sort the copper from the zinc. If they did it, I wonder if they would keep it quiet?

I have heard they did this with 90% silver coins, but don't know for sure. Is there any proof one way or the other?
