Stopped at the little local country store after work and paid for my items with a few presidential dollars that I had gotten from a vending machine; the owner put them in a paper sack he had under the counter. I asked him why he placed them in the sack instead of putting them in his register and he stated that he put them and all the halves and big dollars he got in the bag until he had a bag full to carry to the bank. I told him I would be interested in the halves if he wanted to trade them out for paper money, he stated sure because they are a bother. He poured them out on the counter and I could just hear and see the silver pouring out. He started counting them and it was all I could do to keep a straight face, and as he was counting he said some of these are even silver. I started to get worried he was going to take them out but he didn't! He had $39.50 in halves total. I told him if he wanted I would take them off his hands from know on when he got a bag up and save him the bother of them. Total pull from that little store trip was 2 90% and 9 40% halves and 5 $2 bills. I guess the moral to my rambling is always be observant and don't be afraid to ask these small stores if they have any halves or odd money!

Check those "big" dollars too. I found a Peace dollar in the teller's tray today asking for them.

Running total:
Halves searched:$14,445.50
90% found: 122
40% found: 481

Dimes Searched $2100
Found: 5

Stopped by the same store again today and the owner told me he had a half if I wanted it, I said sure! Chaulk up another 64 Kennedy for the hoard! Starting to love this little country store.

Can't complain at all. My corner store just closed down. I pulled tons of silver and wheats there. Old owners lost the store franchise in a court battle. Oh well, someone will reopen it.

Keep visiting and milking that store.

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Just today, I was going through a bag of change that my Mom had given my daughter to put in her savings account. I found about 8 of the new Linclon series pennies, 20 copper pennies, and a 1963 quarter!

Hit the store again tonight (little girl wanted some apple juice) asked if he had got any halves lately and he replied yes got them saved for you. He opened the register and I could here that silver ring! He had $3 worth and handed them to my little girl. Got home and had to bribe them from her with tic-tacs and had gotten 1 64 (looked like it had a spot of JB weld on the edge) 2 68's a 67 and 2 71's! Not bad if I do say so!

You can trade them at par for one "toe" on the Black Market.

A tic tac is a artificially flavored mint (had orange flavor) that only contains 2 calories per mint. (I think she just likes shaking them to annoy me)

but 2 calories is only roughly equivalent to one copper cent. it should take a whole package for anything silver!!! :) but she got apple juice too, so i guess you can call it even. hahaha!!!

She'll probably end up with it all anyway! She loves playing with the $.50 pieces and tellers think it's just cute when she put's them in her pocket. (better than chocolate)
