I bought a bunch of mexican pesos at a yard sale for dirt cheap. I was researching online and I found:

The Mexican Peso was revalued on January 1, 1993. Pesos dated before that date (Old Mexican Pesos - MXP) are 1000 times less valuable than the New Mexican Pesos - MXN

Does that mean one could still spend pre1993 Mexican pesos in Mexico but at 1/1000 of the value? or are they pretty much worthless?

I believe you have something that has some intrinsic value (copper nickel up through 1983, stainless steel 1984 and later) and slight numismatic value (some coins are a little more collectible, as there are date varieties and such), but not currency value. In other words, not spendable. But you might be able to sell them. Post a pic and/or tell me what year range they are...

Any Peso from 1992 and older is not valid as legal tender. The 1993's musth have an N next to the number in order for them to be valid.
