My wife got a job as a cashier at Wal-Mart a couple weeks ago. Friday night she brought home her first coin for me... a 1945D wheat cent. Cool. Like I said, a small victory - but still cool.

I asked her how many people still pay with cash and change, and she said quite a few. I thought we lived in a primarily debit and credit society, but apparently there are still a few people out there still using coin.

I had a deal with a Wal-Mart cashier for boxes of the new Lincoln cents. You have a real "in" for rolls and boxes of new coins!! Not sure why my source dried up, but it was great for a while!!

She found two more, one on Black Friday (appropriately blackened), and one on Saturday. One a day ain't bad, without having to sort any...
Here they are...

She should be able to find some interesting stuff. She should talk to the the people in the accounting office and see if they will be on the lookout for silver. Offer them 8X face if they are not coin hunters. Most don't care about the coins. But if you offer a reason too look, they will.

You don't have to be the BEST you just have to be.......SLICK

Another day another treasure... and THIS ONE IS GREAT!!! How great? Well, my wife almost decided to keep this one for Christmas.

You see, I collect British coins. And I have for 11 years. And I am always 3-5 years behind "current" in getting the latest circulation coins. So when she received this 2009 British tenpence, she told the customer that her husband collects these and asked if he had any more! He said no, but that she could just keep that one for me... then he paid with American money haha... so this, which is basically my best find of 2009, was free!

I love my wife. Cause she just GETS me, you know?
Aaron

PS I better go over and post this on the "first finds" thread!
