I'm returning from Seattle with quite a lot of Canadian coinage and to cut down shipping I decided to wear/carry as much as I could. (I still shipped over 1/2 ton home! NOTE: This was already a pre-planned deal and did not count as "new buying".)
I have a little over $75 face distributed between my coat and my lap top bag.
Naturally all were hand checked by security, but all was well.
He did spill one bag but only 10 or so coins lost and it was one I had hand sorted as "all steel" so no lost bullion :)
Anyway, I posted this to let you know that it is ok to carry coinage onto the plane!
Also: free wi fi at the Seattle airport which is cool!

| I bring boxes of coin through security nearly every time I travel. Although I get stopped for extra screening EVERY time, it has never been a problem. If you bring boxes of coin through security, here is a tip. Take it out of your luggage, and put it alone in the security bin. That way they can see what you have without going through your luggage. |

| Why would you carry $75 and ship 1/2 ton? Just ship it all! |
As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

When I give my two cents, they're always copper! |

I used to take quite a few through the airport when attending major coin conventions. I would just ask for a private room every time. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Because the $75 was part of the coins I picked up while there. The 1/2 ton is another ordered batch that will be shipped to me next week.
I have a client there that supplies me with a good amount of Canadian :) |

| My customer is a manufacturer and international shipper of their own products. They ship by the box, the pallet, etc. They are sending it via pallet. |

| Just spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Seattle, and was turned down by over a dozen banks (including two where I have accounts) in trying to get a single box just to test the waters on vacation. First morning back in Chicago and 4 different banks have been delighted to sell me two boxes each before lunch time. You've clearly got a better touch than me. |
