I finally tried a bag of nickels.

Found

1 79 canadian
1 42P War nickel
1 dateless buffalo
26 Pre 1960
2 Taiwan Nickels

Took a little time, but was a break from pennies.

Is this pretty typical of a bag.

i get those Taiwan coins too, and lots of other ones. Seems light on the Canadian - but at least you got a pure Ni one.

No.. a bag of nickels should have $200 in it instead of $100. But the yeild sounds about right.
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I was expecting more canadian, being a border state.

I found 3, but only 1 pure nickel

what is the average pure nickel % find for you canada sorters? Nickel sorting in the US seems a bit nuts if you're finding only 25 of the 2000 coins searched.
