That is crazy. If they are short then you take a loss. If they are over, the person that brought them in would be taking the loss. If they are over, the customer took the $50 for them already and they won't be credited if they were over when the armored car service gets them.
I have had banks tell me that they can't promise that the bags are exactly $50. I tell them that I will take the risk. |

it is an acceptable risk...taking CWR's....a month or so ago I picked up a bunch of CWR's of pennies, they were wrapped in the big red paper wrapper, most of the rolls were overstuffed...one roll had 62 pennies in it with the ends taped, Crazy!
Earlier this week, in the bank the senior fella in front of me cashes in 172 $ worth of coin....BINGO for me, I buy all of it. Each roll of dimes was 3 dimes short(15), each roll of quarters was one quarter short but some rolls had a penny in them....Nickels were better, out of 6 rolls I was only 1 nickel short but the rolls were either heavy or light. 17 rolls of pennies had 33 dimes in them. Nuts :-(
no silver.
at least the penny rolls put a smile on my face 8-)
I have a pocket scale on order. |
