Poll Question:
I see some of you have trouble keeping your Ryedale's fed.

Would you ever consider purchasing purchasing unsorted bank boxes above face value + shipping?

Choices:

Yes, absolutely! I''ll never have enough!
Perhaps, if coppers go to $0.04 each or more.
Hell no! Not when I can get them at face!

As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

this is an interesting idea, but there won't be a market for them until the copper pennies disappear. Then you could offer unsearched $25 boxes, which would find buyers, much as bankwrapped unsearched rolls are now sold on ebay. imho

Hoard now and hold on!

Your profit would need to be enough to considerably exceed the cost of shipping to make it worthwhile

Only when the penny is discontinued and banks no longer offer them is when you would find consistant buyers for above face unsorted boxes. There might be a few folks who would buy them, but it would need to be a local pickup thing in order to not pay shipping. There is a guy is my state that is offering 20 unsorted boxes for $545 and recently raised his price to $575, so he must be getting more interest than the occasional buyer in recent weeks.

Alrighty, The way I figure it is if copper went to .4 per penny then everybody and their Mommma will be sorting them out. The problem would then be getting quality unsorted bank boxes. If everybody started ordering boxes, then I imagine there would be ordering limits and such on them. The possibilities are endless here and its hard to predict what might happen if copper were to shoot up to 7-8.00 a pound. Heck several of us sold 25.00 of LP1's for 350.00+ so yes there would definately be a market either locally or on Ebay if certian things played out.

Do people on here really have problems getting boxes? I would recommend becoming a member of several banks; gives you more potential for picking up boxes and having more dump banks.

I just signed up for a Well's Fargo account where they will give me $50 after 30 days for opening my new account and I have already used one branch as a dump site.

If I had 100 boxes dated 2008, would anyone want to buy them at a premium? I think so, as the zinc % continues to go down.
