| Get a scale for $10 and weigh them. Copper is heavier. Good luck |

Absolutly that is how many of us start.
With a digital scale you can get down to the tenth of a gram. This is important as a zinc will weigh about 2.5 grams and a copper 3.1, with the scale you do not have to look at the dates immediatly and it gets those '82s as well. With one hand dropping and one hand knocking to either side you can get pretty good.
If you are searching with numismatic purposes this can speed the process nicely as you have a 20-30 year spread on either side of the material line, making it easier to target the specific era you are looking for.
Welcome to the conversation. Do you collect?

Try this new Ryedale machine. Costs around $100.
