Just broke through the 200% of face value threshold on pennies. I soon expect to start seeing zinc dumps from the big guys ending up in my Brinks rolls like I did last year.

I would think most of the "big guys" never stopped sorting. It is the fair weather sorters who will flock to the game again.

I think you should think "small guys."
There were a lot of people who were on this forum the last time copper was over 200%, and then left when it fell below 100%. T
here are more people joining the forum now the price is back up, and this time to don't think we will see it under the 100% mark again for copper cents. |

I think there were several who sold off their Ryedales and gave up on copper.
I wonder if this means the prices will be going up on feebay now? |

| As I was telling my wife tonight, if we have a similar mania like we did with the dotcoms, people will be looking at any metals with a "story" to rush into. Well, we know about gold and some part of the public has an affection for silver, but if inflation fear flames could be fanned, we will see more and more folks recognizing that copper and nickel are "value" plays in the form of coins. My wife disagrees tremendously, citing the physical weight that any appreciable amount of copper pennies would incur to make them a king's ransom to possess. She is right, but as long as interest rates are paying me nothing to keep funds in a bank, I'll keeping sorting. |
