Hi everyone, I just joined your forum but I have been reading it for a few months now. I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for sharing this great information about copper penny hoarding. I was doing a search for info about silver bullion when I came across the site, and was introduced for the first time to the concept of saving copper pennies. Like a lot of people probably do, I immediately sorted my change jar and started from there. My collection is very small-scale right now. I pick up a $25 box from my bank when I can and hand sort them in my free time. I really enjoy it. I average about 20% copper. I have found several wheaties, no remarkable finds to report yet.
I did start saving nickels too last week. I bought 10 rolls from the bank and found two war nickels, which I was very pleased with as I was just going to put the rolls away.
Thanks again for introducing me to this great hobby!
The silver [is] mine, and the gold [is] mine, saith the LORD of hosts. Hag 2:8 [/b] He created it. He controls it. He gave it to us for His use. Why did we turn from sound scriptural currency that PROTECTS us?
Welcome to the forum HennyPenny. Wow, that is a great percentage of silver on those nickels. I think you should go get some more nickels from that bank.
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
