I got a bag of pennies the other day and it had two squashed pennies in it. One from Vegas and the other from the local zoo.

Anyone else found these in bags? I got a couple last year in a bag if halves.

You are lucky actually. Those routinely go for 25 cents to $1 each on eBay.

Hey -
I found one a couple of days ago with my metal dector down at the beach. It was for the CN Tower in Toronto. It wasn't there too long as it was still bright & shiney. My best find of the year for that location!
I guess with all the steel Canadian penny's the machines that squish the penny's are all in danger or severe damage to thier dies.

Happy hunting all!!

Nice. Yes. Very nice.

Ant saves these for her son. If you send her a PM she might trade you something for them.

Anyone want to venture how these get into bags?
Obviously they can't run through a counter...

"You're not really gonna throw that out...are you"?

ummm how are these making it through the sorters? I'm with you Dumpster, this seems rather odd. Perhaps the tellers just put them in afterwards?

Selling Copper cents. $0 FV available at 1.4xFV. Also interested in trading for wheat pennies and other coins Please pm me for requests or inquiries.

I think that they do go throught the counters. I don't think that the tellers throw them in.

I do know that the tellers at one bank throw in any coins that are stuck on the magnet. This is how I ended up with 50+ steel wheats out of one bag before.
