In case anyone might be interested I am offering for trade only 100 lbs of Canadian 1981 and earlier nickels (99.9% nickel ) for which I would like to recieve an equal value of pre 65 US silver Coin (or 80% silver Canadian coin)
At the current nickel spot price the value of my 100 lbs of nickels is approximately $900 USD so at $10.25/oz silver I'm looking for about 87.8oz of silver in return subject to fluctuation in spot prices
Just to be clear for anyone that doesn't know already, other than a few years during the war, 1981 and earlier Canadian nickels are 99.9% pure nickel So at 4.54 grams each 100 lbs means 10,000 nickels.
Ok there is one catch. I really prefer not to ship for security reasons and shipping cost so I'm hoping to find someone near the Ontario border, either NY or Michigan to meet with in person to do the swap.
If interested please private messege me or ask any questions here on this thread

Hi,
Questions, how much face value of pre 65 U.S. silver are you asking for? Also, are you closer to Detroit or the falls?

I am closer to the Niagara border but its no big deal for me to drive to the Windsor or Sarnia/Port Huron Border either.
Here are my calculations using the most current spot prices.
100 lbs Nickel @ 9.33/lb = $933 USD
$933 / 10.45/oz silver = 89.28oz silver
Pre 65 US 90% silver coin is .712oz silver per each 1$ face.
89.28 / .712 = 125.40
So subject to spot price fluctuations and my math being correct I would like to get about $125 face of pre 65 US 90% silver coin in trade.

Best thing would be to meet in boats in the middle of Lake Erie to avoid customs.

LOL, not a bad idea. Gotta keep the middle man out
I dont see any issues for an American taking back the nickels really as its under the $10,000 curency limit. |
