I once used bank boxes until some got wet. I mostly use 5 gallon buckets now. They fit nicely into my junk pile.

Awake, O kings of the earth! Come ye, O, come ye, with your gold and your silver, to the help of my people, to the house of the daughters of Zion, to the help of the people of the God of this Land even Jesus Christ.

2 1/2 & 5 gallon buckets with lids. I get them from the bakery at the local grocery store. They had cake frosting in them. You can also try the doughnut shops.

Other for me is several things. I keep them in just about everything but water jugs.. too hard to get them out of those. I keep them in original mint bags.. 1 ton per bag, regular canvas/cloth bank bags, kitty litter buckets, tubs, and machine rolled in bank coin trays and penny boxes.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Anyone else notice a decline in litter buckets? Our friend and supplier just told me the new design is a box and not the plastic bucket. I'm a little concerned about storage if the litter buckets are going away.

I have an idea for a contest, how many boxes of pennies can be stored in the storage container above...

When I started to sort I used the canvas bags and stored them in the basement. Noticed the bags seemed damp, switched to plastic coffee containers (easily obtained from just about anywhere)which stack easily on top of each other and can be concealed somewhat easily for security. Have since switched to old custom built wooden trunks which can be found at auctions or thrift shops. I also use the storage tubs from Big Box stores. The bigger the container the tougher to steal if you are broken into. If you can lift it and carry it so can someone else. (Right away from your property)

By my rough calculations about 12000 boxes containing nearly 90 tons of copper.

Those plastic bank bags from coin counters. Each bag holds 50 lbs... They stack very nice also. Most banks will freely give you a few if you know how to ask. :)

I just started also, so for now I am just keeping them in the bank box. My mom bought me a 5 gallon bucket though so I will be using that when I accumulate some more.

I was pretty upset when the Kitty litter buckets in my area switched to cardboard boxes. I'm still looking for more of them. They were really great. Could hold over $200 in coppers and the lid still fit on top.

After I filled a 5 gallon water jug, I started using smaller containers because the weight of 5 gallons was too much to move practically. I use plastic half gallon juice bottles which fit $30 face (20 lbs.) each. And I also use plastic 16 oz. peanut butter containers that fit $7.50 face (5 lbs.) I like the idea of having different sizes of containers. It's like having different denomitations of bills in your wallet.

I use 4 and 5 gallon buckets for storage. I don't make a practice of moving them but a heavy duty hand cart makes the job fairly easy.
