I was looking at the back of a Coin World Magazine and it had an ad for buying BU rolls of pennies
For example
2008 P,D BU rolls $1 each 2007 P,D BU rolls $1 each
Do you think its worth taking the time to compile those and make your own rolls and sell them; this seller actually has their business near me so I would not have to pay to ship.

Not having to ship can be a big factor in your favor when it comes to pennies. If you have them in stock, that is now a bad wholesale price. If you have to "compile" them, does that mean you are setting aside nice ones from circulation to make up rolls. You might want to check with the buyer first. Usually they are looking for original bank wrapped rolls. |

I got a Fed box last year that was 2008; they are in plastic. I assume it is safe to assume they are all 2008 pennies? |

Yes, I think that is a pretty good assumption. With the plastic ones you can pretty much see if there are any dark stripes in there. Sometimes you get some other stuff mixed in. We call those "dirty rolls." You can also check roll weights on your scale to verify that they are all zinc. If you have a really good scale you can check the weight of the entire box at once. A box of zincolns should weigh about 14.1 pounds. I think these would be acceptable to the buyer. The fact that you wouldn't have to ship is what makes this deal work well. I think the Buyer would be happy with those. |
