Has anyone else noticed that the quality of junk silver on ebay is degrading? Lot sizes are shrinking as well. I guess sellers are keeping their better coins and just parceling out their dirty, bent, scratched garbage when they can get a decent price. I used to only find one or two bad coins in a $10 roll of Walkers, now it's almost half with dates worn smooth, badly toned, etc. They're going straight into my "sell in a calamity box" or when silver hits $30.

When I used to buy bags from APMEX they were usually clean coins with several BU's mixed within; now I'm lucky if have of them are clean... the rest are worn, yucky... and no BU's anymore... someone over there is sorting before selling.

Do you guys find that with all these worn 90% coins that you may not be getting full weight for your silver buy?

Without some UNCs in the bag, probably you are coming up short of the 715 oz/$1000 bag standard. How short is the weight these days on the coins you buy?

Hmmm, hadn't considered that. I'm not too active with my buying right now, but I'll have to weigh it next time I get a bag. I'm gonna trade the gold/silver ratio next time it gets up to 75-80:1, if it ever does, and we'll see what it weighs then.
