This weekend I visited a coin shop and purchase several large bags of loose foreign coins. I was literally buying them by the pound and getting them weighted on a bathroom scale!
The shop is more of a junk store that you literally have to dig in piles to find stuff. I spent several hours on two different days.
The owner asked if I wanted any Canadian. I know nothing really about Canadian coins but I knew folks on the board would. He had a nice size container and said I could purchase them back of the actual face value but I would have to count them!
It was over $43 dollars and of that a little over $3.00 was in pennies. There was even four or five silver coins and well. There was also one penny in a 2X2 labeled 1962 double date
The horde also had older nickels and a hand full of 1964/1965 in mint plastic as well as some 1964/1965 loose UNC pennies bright red.
I have been pulling out other Canadian pennies where I would regular sort and have additional rolls I have put in a bag. Probably close to $30
I have no idea what I have got really or the value! But at buying back of face I figured I’m already ahead. Does anyone have a website that I could look at to help determine the value? I’ll probably sell them at some point once I know what I actually have.
I think the lowest grade listed is F12-(Fine) - "Even wear across the surface of the coin on both sides. Center detail more evident. All letters and numbers well defined with weak spots. Highest to mid points of the coin worn off."

Sweet! nice score! I don't know a whole lot about grading, if you posted a pic I'm sure you could get a free grading from multiple members on most coin forums. Only problem is you need one of those microscopic zoom camera's... but since youre into coins, it might be worth it to buy a Camera for posting pics for coin grading. It's good to get multiple opinions on a coin instead of that one guy at the shop that wants to buy your coin for cheaper. Plus, those Camera's are cool toys.
