It has been in the weather for almost 2 years, but it seem to be mostly alluium. It looks 95 intact and real great shape. I can imagine why someone would have left this behind.
any guesses to the value? Scrap? or Resale?

thanks

I would take off all the key components and sell them on eBay.
Car parts are worth more as replacements than scrap value.

I once had a rusty 1980 VW diesel engine that would have gotten me only $20 at most from the scrap yard.
Putting a few pieces on eBay netted me over $200

Before the savage yard tow truck picked my old VW Jetta,
I took off all the lights, ignition parts, computer, radio, fuel pump, wiper motor, alternator, starter, etc. and got another $400 on eBay.

Most likely, you should resale this engine whole. Is it DOHC or SOHC? Either way, there's always some ricer whos watched too much fast and furious and is always spitting rods out the side of his block in his 17 second civic. Someone will buy that to have as a project motor while they drive the car with the current motor I would assume. You need to know the engine code before selling it though. Check the VIN number and I'll let you know what size it is and what it came out of.

I have no clue, I'll have to find out. Im sure this motor has bent rods; it looks nice for being in the weather for 2 yrs. I know it has some value, I just wasn't sure how to get the most for it v.s time spent loading it up and unloaded it. I'm after about a 6pack I could have it broken down. Just dont ask me to put it back together..lol

You could probably get about $200 for it on homemadeturbo.com, But you will most likly have to ship it which could be a hassle.
