I don't know about the market, but getting skunked on nickels about 1 out of 4 boxes for me is average. Rarely, I get 2 skunks in a row. Maybe once 3 in a row, but I'm not sure about that. BTW: That's also including buffaloes. I've got 39 of those this year. I don't consider it a skunk if I get a buff.
Average coppernickels are still 25% nickel and 75% copper. They are worth holding without sorting.
