Went to the credit union to get rid of my zincs, they have coin machine that is no cost to members, and when I checked the coin return there sits a nice 46 Roosevelt dime.

When I intially picked it up I felt a sharp edge on it and after closer exam it appears to be solder marks at the 12,3,6 & 9 positons. Apparently it was in a piece of jewelery at one time and someone must really need the cash.

$50 piece of jewelery, neat.
$1.25 melt, neater
Now it's mine, priceless.

You're kidding, right?

Yep. And they got nothing for it. I guess they didn't know what it was. I'd at least wonder why a dime was in a setting before I put it in a change machine.

Good for you. Every bit counts.

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Someone at a coin show told me that they once found 12 1943 pennies in a coin stars reject bin. Ever since then I always check.
