I went to the coin store yesterday late afternoon and looked through their "cheap coins"
Picked up:
1937 silver quarter G-3 for $2.65 1954 D silver quarter G for $2 1936 Mercury dime VG/F $1 1934 Mercury dime F $1.10 1936S Mercury dime F+ $1.20 1944 Mercury dime VF $1.10 1943D Mercury F+ $1 1941D Mercury VF $1.10 1942S Mercury F $1 1942S Mercurty VF+ $1 1942 Mercury F+ $1.10
Not bad getting below melt value
The $2 quarter was my best deal
SELLING COPPER PENNIES 1.4X FACE SHIPPED......“I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principles of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale” Thomas Jefferson
Not bad...the lowest sell prices on bulliondirect this morning are in the 12.3x face range, so you did well. Sometimes it's worth looking through the bargain bins when there are wild upswings in the spot price. Another good place to check would be antique stores since most dealers with coins in the cases don't update their prices quickly enough. You might find a bargain or two that way. Congrats!
My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.
