If you get dime rolls, try to get them wrapped in see through plastic. If you can't, just tear open the paper roll and lay the dimes edgewise in your hand. I use a 3X plastic magnifier and reading glasses to scan my rolls of dimes. If you've got youthful eyes, you may not need a magnifier. Use a bright light and carefully scan the dime edges from one end to the other. All the clads will give you a reddish or dark red reflection. For the coins you are not sure of, tilt the roll of coins at a different angle. The clads will give you a copper reflection. The few silver coins that you find will show a white metal reflection and they will stand out from the reddish clads. Sometimes clads will show white metal, but only the silvers will be white metal all around the coin. If you were able to get plastic wrapped rolls, open just these rolls and pull out your 90% silver dime. Have some paper wrappers handy and put the discards in that paper roll and add a clad dime to the roll to make up for the silver coin.
The one or two plastic wrapped dime rolls you open are the only ones you need to put in dime paper wrappers yourself. Put the other rolls right back into the box and return them all to the dump bank. If you couldn't get the plastic wrapped rolls, find a dump bank with a coin counter to make your life easier. Unlike halves, banks need dimes for their business customers. I limit my dime returns to $1000 per branch.

Be sure to watch out for tarnished silver edges.
Sure, most silver dimes are bright gray and very obvious. But maybe every dozen or so there is a silver that is hard to distinguish.
My technique is to look for a distinct boundary between the clad layers. If an edge is rather consistent, the dime might be worth investigating further.

| I'll be trying dimes this week myself. I know of two banks that always get their coins in clear plastic, so I think I'll go by each one and get a box. Thanks for the idea! |

I don't know where you are sorting, but I tend to get a large number (5-20) of canadian dimes mixed in with my us dimes. They are all silver colored, but they have a different number of reeds on the edge. They can get you all excited if you aren't careful.
I always check them with a magnet before I try and get rid of them. That is a significant source of "leakage" in my dime orders, there is no good way to get rid of them. |

Killerken53 is correct. If you live near Canada, you are going to get the Canadian dimes. If you get the plastic wrapped rolls, you are going to have to pull out each of the white metal coins. There's no way around that if you do edge searching. I'd put the Canadian dimes that you don't want right back in your paper roll with the other US clads. |
