I found this weird coin in a rool of halves it turned out to be a 1926 150 aniversry of the signing of the declaration of independence commemerative half! it is really tarnished, but I think this is the most valuable thing I have ever found. I think it is worth at least $50!

There were 141,120 of these coins minted in 1926. For the celebration, a 2.5 dollar gold commemorative was minted too. The occasion was an international world's fair held in Philadelphia. The coins helped to finance the fair. President Coolidge and Washington were depicted on the obverse and the liberty bell was depicted on the reverse. Interestingly, President Coolidge was the POTUS in 1926. |
