I have been searching boxes of halves for about 1 year now in DC. I have a set up when I dump at PNC and pick up at Sun trust. I have been getting a bunch of marked halves and haven't found anything (not even 40%!) in about 1-2 months! if someone else is searching in the area lets coordinate so we aren't dumpi9ng on each other. Thanks,

I'm about an hour south of you. It's a lean period for silver right now - don't know why. I use Brink's as my source bank and dump the discards into a Dunbar bank. I search a little more than $2000 per week, 4 boxes or so. Who services your banks?
I'm on a string of 1115 silver skunks in a row for my half boxes. The halves I'm seeing are unmarked casino halves - worn with the reeds on the rims worn slick, showing much more circulation than average. The bad luck I'm having has been going on for about 6 weeks now. With the exception of two great boxes, out of the last 2024, 1822 were silver skunks.
I get my halves tomorrow. Maybe I'll get some good boxes for a change. Four more silver skunks again! UGH! |

I'm across the river in Falls Church. I pick up at Wachovia and BB&T, and dump at TD-Commerce.
EDIT: I won't be ordering anymore boxes, and just stick to loose halves and rolls. Boxes weren't producing, and almost all my finds came from the tellers' trays. |

I haven't seen anything like that in my searching. I have just seen a variety of halves marked with magic marker. Some on the face, some on the edge. I had a dry spell for almost a month or more!
As for who services the coins at each bank I am not sure? I pick up at Sun trust (black wrappers) 2 boxes per week and a dump at PNC (which has yellow wrapped halves). My assumption is that they are serviced by differnt companies? I am not sure. |

I also dump occasionally at TD bank in Arlington, but I fill up their machine everytime! TD has that dam penny arcade thing. Where the cartoon girl talks to you. The PNC machine will take all $500 without a hitch normally. I live in Arlington but work in DC so I do all of my banking while I am at work.
Just stay in Fairfax county! (Just kidding) |

I think those beaters take turns. (I call them "body washers") They seem to cycle past here in DE in waves. Ugly coins at best. After a few boxes of those, I thing the occasional nice coin is a treat. Maybe we could get with a long distance hauler and send them to the other coast! Just kidding but you know what I mean. I am sure we all have searchers in our areas that are currently active or who have searched heavily in the past that do not report here and we are unaware of, take for instance my phantom coin grabber.
Change your routines and explore new banks.
