He isn't a member of this forum (as far as I know) but he knows his coins.

I disagree with him when he says that this coin has no value due to the verdigris (corrosive green) on the coin. Any one of us who found a coin exactly like this, corrosion and all, in our change or in our penny rolls would value it highly, especially those who have not found one yet.

I don't agree with the 3 cents

I have a good relationship with my local coin store owner and he showed me "cull" Indian head pennies and sells them for 25 cents if they have the corrosion on them.

I've found a 19 something wheat pennis that has green all over it, its so bad you cant even read the date. I kept it anyway

Must hoard more......

I keep any and all Feathered Liberties in any condition they may be.
PS - Soaking cruddy coins in oil then alcohol can clean them up rather nicely.

There's profit if you melt things!!
