Do any of you have tips for selling pennies on Craigslist ie running an ad on there? Do you have any success?

I have sold to someone before off of Craigslist but that was because he was the one running the ad (I'm kicking myself that I didn't sell him more than $20 worth but I was a newbee at the time).

Hi there-

JMO, but I haven't had too much luck with it. I think coppers are still too much of a niche product. This forum is far and away the best resource I know about for copper cents. The ads are starting to pop up on craigslist, however, and most coin dealers are at least peripherally aware of the copper penny market even if they don't deal in it. Just give it time.....

Only when they CAN'T have it, ......THEN they'll want it.

I love Cents. If you get an UNC box, you win. If you get a regular circ. box, you win. If you get a zinc box, you don't lose....so you still win.

I've seen a large amount of ads for sellers of copper cents. But buyers are a rare find on Craigs.list. I'd say post an add, for sales, couldn't hurt your chances.

Running a few ads with very different wording/points and various quantities and prices could start to develop a market as regular craigslist users will notice the activity. Then you can advertise a lower price and brag you are the cheapest in the market! Just a crazy marketing idea on a Friday night.

Craigslist for me has always been a welcome surprise - not for copper but alot of other things. Stuff I never thought I had a chance at selling, I sold on Craigslist. I'm keeping my copper though, so I can't speak for that.

Any good ideas for wording on the ads? I could use some cash to buy more rolls to sort, but not very good at writing ads. Haven't seen any in my area.
