New Quarter series in 2010: You must be logged in to see this link. (This might be interesting because of the following which does not seem to be available online.)
The mint will be issuing Silver bullion products in the America the Beautiful series. Each National park quarter will also be issued in a 5 ounce (yes, five) .999 Silver bullion coin with a 3 inch diameter (About 2X a silver dollar) The fineness and weight will be incused on the edges (here we go again!) No further info is available yet. I'll bet these will be pricey :) but I think a good investment for the long run. There's the hope of a edge lettering errors and of course a new set balanced by a hefty chunk of AG to be sure it retains it's value at minimum. If the mint follows their previous pattern They will likely be around $100 and be on backorder 5 minutes after the sales open.
And you will be paying a significant premium over melt. And if the price of silver goes up a nickel they will discontinue taking orders.
Funny about how they have all these problems with edge lettering. I have plenty of Bust Half Dollars from a 80-100 years ago when they had no problem with edge lettering. They need to reinvint the Castang machine.
