How come when I am sorting through halves the 1974s all look different than all the other years. At first I always get excited because they look like silver but turn out not to be because they are 1974.
I've noticed the edges of many early 1970's halves have that silver like appearance. I think it's because these coins have oxidized a bit over the years.
