Last weekend I went camping with my dad and other family members. When we got there my dad gave my daughter a Golden Indian Head Penny and told me to drill a hole in it and make a necklace out of it. She showed me the "penny" and it was a 1908 2 1/2 dollar gold piece.
I told him it wasn't an indian head penny but a gold piece. When he would travel there was a place that sold indian head pennies for 50 cents a piece. He has about 50 of them, but one he bought for 50 cents was a inderian head gold piece. So any ways my daughter ended up with a nice coin.
By the way highroller congrats on your gold piece find. I hope to find one someday in my pennies.
