Saw this auction of Ebay and I was wondering if this was a real cent members's and was everyone's opinion. I have always treated Canadian pennies the same as US. I did notice the header says 5000 and in the body it says 500, big difference. I emailed the seller for correct amount.
Don't recognize him - looks like a coin dealer. Note these are George VI pennies, sort of like wheats. At $99.95 for what must be 5000 coins that is around 2 cents each. Might be ok, I don't know what George VI's are worth really. It can't be 20 cents a coin though.

Yeah, I saw that and emailed him about it. What is the difference with VI and V? I guess what I am asking is which one should I get exicted about? I have been just putting all Candian pennies in one big bag that I find? Thanks for helping a newbie.
George V (1920-1936 I think) is before George VI (1937-1952) The George Vs are pretty hard to find and have a different reverse to them. The George VI's have the same maple twig design as current pennies do and while not plentiful, you'll find a few in most boxes of Canadian pennies.
You might want to seperate the Canadian copper from the non-copper. Everything to 1996 is copper.

Got a reply from the seller. the auction is for 5000 George VI and the new price is $149 with free shipping. So 3 cents a piece for a penny similar to wheats.
