I live here in Michigan and hand sort so I get a lot of young elizabeths. I have not been seperating them. Does anybody here think it's worth doing so? Are they worth more than a couple cents each?

I am keeping them separate. For no real reason other than I can. I hand sort so its not a big deal for me to do so. Just in cast they do have, or at some point in time do achieve some numismatic significance, I'm all set. If not, I can easily dump them back in with the rest of my Canadians.
If anything keep the '53 aside to check for the NSS (No Shoulder Strap) variety.

| I sort mine out by George V, George VI, Rock Doves, and then Elizabeths (young and old) from 1953-1996. I thought about separating the young from old but that would be a chore at this point. |

| I've been putting all the young Elizabeths and the King George VI pennies in the same location as my wheat pennies. I have found some brilliant BU young Elizabeths (Ive put those in cardboard coin holders). Today, I found 2 King George VI pennies in my sort. I think finding those is more impressive than common date wheats since I do not live near the Canadian border. |

I keep all my Canuk-A-Cents together except for the Bearded Kings.
I keep those in a separate cointainer.
I do plan to sort them before I sell any, the newer ones will go first. |

I set them aside because I like the design and it's fun to add more of them to the pile. The 63-64's are pretty common and I see more of them in AU-BU condition, I wonder if a lot of rolls were hoarded when the design changed.

| type changes. 53-64 =young, 65-79 guess the queen was 30ish. , 82-89 lighter weight, and the 90-96 saw her change to a 'crown'. |

1953-1981
1982-1996
Doves

I don't get many Canadian coins, maybe 20 per box. Because I don't have many it is easy to sort them I sort them in groups of
George VI
Young Queens
1965-1977 (heavy)
1978-1979 (med heavy)
1980-1981 (med light)
1982-1996 (light)
Doves.
If I found any George V I would also seperate them out, but I have yet to find one.
I have the young queens, doves, and kings in plastic coin tubes and the rest in Ziploc baggies. |
