I saw this on SurvivalBlog, and while this post was about inventory and logistics at a retreat location, I think there are a lot of applications for those of us who plan to stay put as much as possible if TSHTF. I like the point that this person makes about how others might be able to find uses for our discarded items, and vice versa--great barter items when you think you're done with something that someone else might be able to use, or multiple functions that certain items have that might not be readily apparent:
